Uber Design Day

Location
Uber NYC Headquarters

I was invited to visit Uber's New York City Headquarters for their first internal design conference. The event brought together designers from across the company to share insights, learn from each other, and explore the evolving landscape of design practice. As someone who works at the intersection of design and emerging technology, it was an honor to be part of a day dedicated to advancing the conversation around how we create better user experiences.

Uber Design Day

One of the highlights of the day was having the opportunity to share insights about designing interactions with AI. It was energizing to discuss the nuances of creating intuitive, human-centered experiences in an era where AI is becoming increasingly integrated into the products we build.

What made this experience particularly special was the format of the event itself. While I was presenting from Uber's impressive New York City headquarters, the audience extended far beyond the room I was standing in. Design teams from Uber's international offices joined remotely, creating a truly global conversation about the future of design and AI.

There's something really cool about presenting to a hybrid audience—seeing the engaged faces in the room while knowing that designers in Amsterdam, São Paulo, Bangalore, and beyond were part of the same conversation. The questions and perspectives that emerged reflected Uber's global reach and the diverse contexts in which these design challenges play out.

This kind of knowledge sharing across borders and time zones embodies what makes internal design conferences valuable. It's not just about the content being shared, but about building connections and fostering dialogue across a global design community.

Looking forward to seeing how these conversations influence the next generation of AI-integrated experiences.
