I recently had the privilege of speaking at the AI & Sustainability Global Summit, hosted by GEMI.AI in collaboration with Columbia University and NYU. The panel focused on the fascinating intersection of artificial intelligence, creative expression, and sustainable design practices. Alongside industry leaders and researchers, we explored how AI is transforming the creative landscape while considering the environmental and ethical implications of these technologies.

Our discussion centered on several key themes: how AI can augment and enhance human creativity rather than replace it, the critical importance of emotional understanding in creative tools, and what truly meaningful human-AI collaboration looks like in artistic fields. We examined both the opportunities and challenges that emerge when machine learning meets artistic practice, from generative tools that expand creative possibilities to the sustainability concerns inherent in training and deploying AI systems.

The conversations from this summit are helping to shape a more thoughtful approach to creative AI—one that prioritizes human agency, environmental responsibility, and the preservation of authentic creative expression. It's an exciting time to be working at this intersection, and I'm grateful to have been part of these important discussions about the future of design and technology.
